The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive away, stretching from the fishing port of Palamos (where there are plenty of good fish restaurants) to the quiet family resort of Sant Antoni and Torre Valentina. Our personal favourite beach is La Fosca (a 10 minute drive) which is a small, natural bay with the added advantage of a gentle sloping beach into the sea and the beautiful natural cove of Castell with plenty of stunning costal walks. The pretty coves of Llafranc and Begur are a 20 minute drive away.
Heading south you have a Water park at Platja d'Aro, a 15 minute drive away with slides and flumes.
The Water Park along the coast which offers a great family day out and Marineland popular with the younger children offers a water park with various dolphin and animal shows one hour away.
Girona is situated in North Eastern Spain, close to the border of France. The City of Girona is a very interesting and beautiful place with many historical sites and museums to visit. For those of you who enjoy art, the 'Dali' museum at Figueres should not be missed. Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia, is not far from Girona taking approximately 90 minutes to reach by motorway. The medieval village of Calonge is situated inland and is twinned with the coastal town of Sant Antoni with its excellent beach and rugged landscape. Beaches vary from long sandy bays to small sheltered coves, such as Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu and Llafranc. Water sports, horse-riding and tennis can all be enjoyed in the area and there are good golf courses all within driving distance.
